New Milford seeks 'clean energy' grant
Almost 1,000 New Milford residents are on their way to making New Milford a "Clean Energy Community" by participating in Energize Connecticut's Home Energy Solutions program.
By participating in Home Energy Solutions, residents not only have utility-certified technicians seal air leaks, install energy efficient lighting, and recommend deeper energy-saving measures, but also earn points towards a $10,000 grant for the town.
"Almost 1,000 residents have already participated in the Home Energy Solutions program, saving energy and money," said Bill Taylor, chairman of the New Milford Clean Energy Task Force.
If the town were to qualify for the grant, it could implement the energy efficiency solution, he said.
Residents who want to learn more about saving energy and money through the Home Energy Solutions Program should call 877-947-3873 or visit www.energizect.com.
