The John Pettibone Memorial Scholarship Fund has announced it has awarded $70,000 to New Milford High School's Class of 2009.

Scholarships were presented to Allison Stumpf (scholarship in memory of Tim Conn, $5,000); Eric Steiner (a $20,000 four-year scholarship in memory of Erma Kelly); Billie Lynn Coons (a $4,0000 scholarship funded by Walmart and the local Walmart associates in memory of Brian Van Haaften); and Lauren Perrino (a $5,000 scholarship to honor Stanley Setear's dedication to the fund).

Also, Alexandra Goetjen (a $20,000 scholarship to be given out in $5,000 increments over four years, funded by the Helen Knowles Harcourt Foundation); Meghan Viola and Russell Williamson (a $2,000 scholarship for each funded by the Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce); Arian Lekaj (a $1,000 scholarship in memory of Rebecca Payne); and Margaret Torres and Amy Wheeler (a $1,000 scholarship each funded by "A New Milford Portfolio" book sales in memory of Woldemar Neufeld).

In addition, scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 were presented to Lauren Galanti, Deirdre Nappi, Jonathan Kang, Corinne Sullivan, Alexandra Brown, Matthew Gall, Jessica Dwy, Joshua LaFlamme, Kendall Adkin, Michaela Hastings, Veronica Hernandez, Ashley Seymour, Todd Nappi, Danielle Bresson and Rebecca Lastra.
