The two other vehicles in the crash are on the shoulder of the highway.

DOT says congestion between Exits 30 and 31 is 1.2 miles.

The northbound lanes from the first crash have reopened.

The center lane remains closed from the second accident.

By 8:10 a.m. speeds were knocked down to 10 mph because of the two accidents.

The nine miles to travel from Bridgeport to Milford increased to 56 minutes.

EARLIER STORY

A pair of accidents closed northbound lanes of I-95 in Stratford on Monday morning.

The first accident, a two-vehicle accident shut down two northbound lanes at 7:23 a.m.

The left and center lanes are closed between Exits 32 and 33.

To make matters worse, there is another accident in the northbound lanes. That three-vehicle accident, reported at 7:50 a.m., has closed the center lane between Exits 30 and 31.

Camera images from the first accident show one of the vehicles facing a Jersey barrier.

The other damaged vehicle was stopped in one of the closed lanes.

At 7:50 p.m., traffic was slowed to an average speed of 16 mph, according to the state Department of Transportation.

It said the 10-minute northbound drive from Route 8 and the Milford Connector was taking 34 minutes.
