An accident involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle closed two lanes of I-95 south Friday morning.

The accident was reported at 8:14 a.m. during a time of moderate rain and the peak of the AM commute.

Two southbound lefts lanes were closed between Exits 16 and 15 in Norwalk for about 40 minutes.

State Police said there were only minor injuries in the crash.

But the accident caused heavy traffic delays in the area.

At 8:45 a.m., the state Department of Transportation said it took 78 minutes to travel the 14 miles between Bridgeport and Norwalk. The average travel speed was just 11 mph.
