A New Milford resident recently appeared as a contestant on "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire" and came home with some pocket cash.

Nate Mockler, a statistical analyst, appeared April 15 on the television show.

Mockler made it up to his eighth question on the show but incorrectly guessed "A" as the answer.

The question, in the category of historic moments, was: "In 2012, Hillary Clinton became the first secretary of state to visit what Southeast Asian nation since the `Secret War' forever changed the region? A: Cambodia; B: Laos; C: Philippines; D: Thailand."

The correct answer was "B."

Mockler bypassed his option to not take a guess and walk away with half of his Millionaire Bank, but was still able to leave the show with $1,000 in winnings.

Mockler is married to his high school sweetheart, Keri, who came to New York City with him and sat in the "Millionaire" audience as his on-air companion for the show.

After 10 years of dating, the couple tied this knot this past summer.

Mockler auditioned for "Millionaire" just three days before he got married.
