Mary Ellen Bryer, 64, of Charlestown, N.H., died July 25, 2009, at her home. She was surrounded by her family.
She resided in New Milford most of her life but had lived in Charlestown for the past 10 years.
Mrs. Bryer worked as a customer service representative for the First National Stores in Connecticut for 25 years and retired in 2003 from Ralph's Market in Charlestown.
She loved gardening and enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises. Mrs. Bryer was an active member of Sharon's Hometown Fighters Relay for Life Team.
Mrs. Bryer is survived by her husband, Blanchard M. Bryer, of Charlestown, whom she married June 27, 1981; a daughter, Katie Ducey, and her husband, Mike, of Gaylordsville; two sons, Alan Edmonds, and his wife, Darlene, of Gardner, Kan., and Duke Bryer, and his wife, Roni, of Timonum, Md.; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Ashley Edmonds, and Hayleigh and Dustin Wilson; a brother, Edgar Benjamin Jr., and his wife, Shirley, of Charlestown; two sisters, Martha Trabold, of Charlestown, and Laurie McRoberts, and her husband, John, of Plainfield, N.J.; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, and a sister, Lois Deloy.
The Colonial Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
