Lynn E. Selinka, 80, of New Milford, died Aug. 20, 2009, at New Milford Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Selinka.

Mrs. Selinka was born Aug. 14, 1929, in Hanover, Germany, daughter of the late Rinehardt and Elsa (Dohm) Erhart.

She was a graduate of Concordia College and Butler Business School. She was executive secretary to the president of New York Medical College for many years, retiring in 1992.

Mrs. Selinka moved from Westchester, N.Y., to New Milford in 1992.

She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother known as Nanny and Omie.

She loved to sew, garden, cook, shop at QVC and spend time surrounded by her family and friends.

Most recently Mrs. Selinka was befriended and cared for by Taylor Lydiard, who is now a member of the family. She also loved her adopted daughters, Kate and Eleshia.

Mrs. Selinka is survived by a son, John Edward Selinka and his wife, Priscilla, of Thornwood, N.Y.; three daughters, Janet Allsworth and her husband, Ken, Carol Servillo and her husband, Frank, and Alyssa Ness and her husband, Rod, all of New Milford; seven grandchildren, Justin and Jessica Allsworth, Krysten and Jaclyn Servillo and Zachary, Jacob and Kellen Ness.

The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
