Fall festival and car show attract hundreds to park in New Milford

The sights, smells, sounds and fun of the New Milford Lions Club's fall festival proved a treat Saturday to many hundreds of visitors to Harrybrooke Park.

The inaugural event was conceived last spring as a fundraiser for the community-minded Lions by member Bill Deak as he volunteered at a park cleanup hosted by the Friends of Harrybrooke.

The two organizations pooled their resources and volunteer might. The result was Saturday's six-hour extravaganza of great food, lots of kids' amusements, a car show, lumberjacking, raffles, baking contests and much more, spread across the pristine acreage of the privately-held park open to New Milford residents.
