The Kent Democratic and Republican town committees will share planning for a debate of selectmen candidates.

The event is scheduled Oct. 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Kent Center School.

Following the debate, the candidates will be available to meet and greet guests in the cafeteria.

GOP first selectman candidate Karen Casey and Democratic hopeful Bruce Adams will be among those to participate.

Following candidates' opening statements, Art Cummings, editor of The News-Times, and Kathryn Boughton, associate editor of the Litchfield County Times, will interview the selectmen candidates.

Following the question and answer period, the floor will be open for direct questions from the audience.

After concluding remarks, the selectmen candidates will join their colleagues running for other elective offices in the cafeteria for refreshments.
