Oct. 18 will be the final day in Kent to register to vote in person before the Nov. 4 election.

To that end, a registration session will take place that day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Town Hall.

A valid ID will be required.

Mail-in registrations must be hand delivered or postmarked no later than Oct. 21.

Online registrations also must be completed by Oct. 21.

Mail-in registrations received after Oct. 21 will be processed, but the voter would not be eligible to vote in the Nov. 4 election.

The Kent registrars also will conduct two special registration sessions for persons whose voting rights mature after this date.

A session will be offered Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for anyone who became 18, a U.S. citizen or resident of the town before this date.

Those whose rights of age, citizenship or residency mature after this date may apply in the office on a daily basis until the opening of the limited session on Nov. 3

Anyone who does not fall into the matured rights category may register, but will not be eligible to vote.

A special registration session will take place Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for anyone who became 18, a U.S. citizen or resident of the municipality after Oct 28.

During this session, members of the armed forces and former members discharged within the calendar year immediately proceeding will be admitted as electors if such a request is made and they are found eligible.
