The Kent Memorial Library is once again the recipient of a Connecticut Library Association Award.

This year it has been given honorable mention for a poster in the print media category.

The winning artwork is an 11-x-17-inch poster used to advertise the Edmond Morris and Christopher Buckley book talk and signing held in November 2012.

The poster graphic was also used for newspaper advertising, eBlasts, the library website and numerous flyers.

"When given the challenge to host and then market a battle of wits in a special book talk titled `They Shoot Biographers, Don't They?,' " said Lucy C. Pierpont, poster designer and marketing and events director of the library, "it immediately became apparent that the only way to graphically illustrate this unusual and humorous combination of well-known authors and friends, Edmond Morris & Christopher Buckley, was through humor.

"We knew we had an entertaining program to present to the Kent community," she said, "and wanted to advertise it effectively through limited media."

The winners were honored April 29 at the Connecticut Library Association annual conference at the Crowne Plaza Hartford in Cromwell.
