KENT — With town hall closed to the public over novel coronavirus concerns, the town’s land use office will be operating differently through April 17.

The land use administrator is available by email at landuseadmin@townofkentct.org, and by phone Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 860-927-4625.

The land use clerk will be available Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon. Approved building permit applications will be processed and mailed during those hours.

The Building Official will be available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m. for phone consultations. The phone number is 860-927-4556.

Residents should still call 860-619-8055 to request an inspection. The decision to perform inspections will be made by the town’s building official and will be based on the conditions of the property to be inspected.

The fire marshal will be available for phone consultations Tuesday and Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m., and burn permits are being issued via phone.

The town building official will also be available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m. for phone consultations.

Applications can be downloaded from the tonw’s website, townofkentct.org, and then either mailed or dropped off in the large blue box at the front door of town hall.
