Kathleen Gurry, 69, had family in Sherman

Kathleen (Meehan) Gurry, 69, of New Fairfield, died at her home Aug. 4, 2009, after more than a 25-year battle with cancer.
Mrs. Gurry was born July 31, 1940, in the Bronx, N.Y., daughter of the late James and Winifred (Shanley) Meehan.
Mrs. Gurry worked as an administrative assistant for Boehringer Ingelheim, retiring after 17 years.
She was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and international travel.
Mrs. Gurry is survived by her former husband, Michael Gurry of Sherman; a son, Michael Gurry, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Kerry Marooney and her husband, Richard, of Exton, Pa., and Kristin Gouveia and her husband, Gary, of New Fairfield; nine grandchildren, Lauren, Catherine and Kevin Gurry, Cody, Joseph and James Marooney and Jake, Sydney and Carys Gouveia; a brother, James Meehan Jr. and his wife, Vivien, of Naples, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan Marooney.
The Cornell Memorial Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
