Karin Anderson, 63, had family in area towns

Karin Mery (Hansen) Anderson, 63, of Blueberry Hill Road in Bridgewater, loving mother, daughter, and grandmother, died July 12, 2009, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Anderson was born Jan. 1, 1946, to Muriel and Trygve Hansen in Sandefjord, Norway. She traveled to the United States in 1952 with her parents and her sister, Ovidia.
She was a graduate of Wilton High School in 1963 and a graduate of Dean Junior College in 1965. After graduating in 1965, she was employed by Save the Children Federation in Norwalk until her marriage.
Mrs. Anderson was the office manager at Lindstedt Oil Company for 14 years and then worked for the state before retiring in 1991.
She was a talented seamstress, an avid Alpine skier and a 14-year veteran of the National Ski Patrol.
Mrs. Anderson was a very caring and strong person and loved life for what it was. She was always willing to help her family and children any way possible.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vann Anderson.
She is survived by her mother and father, Muriel and Trygve Hansen of Wilton; a sister, Ovidia Piersall of Wilton; a brother, Karl Hansen of Milford; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Talitha Montesi of Evergreen, Colo.; two grandchildren, Andrew and Jakob Montesi, also of Evergreen; a son and daughter-in-law, Erik and Carla Montesi of Warren; and a daughter and son-in-law, Viktoria and Jason Maxwell of New Milford.
Calling hours will be held today (Friday), from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford.
Services will be held tomorrow (Saturday), at 10 a.m. at the Bridgewater Congregational Church.
