The New Milford Health Department will hold a volunteer recruitment and orientation session Wednesday, July 29 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Richmond Citizen Center on Main Street for people interested in helping with preparations for public health emergencies.

Medical training or background is not required.

Several positions for non-medical personnel are available. People who possess foreign language translation ability, a CDL driver's license, computer/IT skills, communications skills and emergency preparedness experience are needed.

Some volunteers will be needed to assist with the operation of vaccination clinics for the public over the next few months.

Volunteers should reside in New Milford, Washington, Sherman or New Fairfield.
