Geraldine Marie (Montgomery) Bertolotti, 91, of Heritage Village, Southbury, died July 22, 2009, at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph C. Bertolotti.

Mrs. Bertolotti was born Oct. 21, 1917, in New York City, daughter of the late Major and Josephine (Howe) Montgomery.

Mrs. Bertolotti was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter and her great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bertolotti had a quick Irish wit and loved to sing Irish songs. She shared her experiences of growing up in New York City and watching the building of the George Washington Bridge and her first walk over it.

Mrs. Bertolotti is survived by a daughter, Geri Hopper, and her husband, Harry, of New Milford; a granddaughter, Kristin Hopper, of Fairfield; two grandsons, Joseph Michael and Walter John Wuchiski of Fairfield; a sister, Clare Kennedy, of Darcut, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a brother, James; three sisters, Catherine, Margaret and Lorraine; and a nephew, James Kelly.

The Brookfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
