Garage construction is on target in Washington
Work on the new town garage along Blackville Road (Route 109) in Washington Depot is on schedule.
The frame and sides of the building are now in place.
An 8,400-square-foot structure has been attached to the existing 4,000-square-foot structure that remained on the site following a May 2012 fire.
The blaze destroyed much of the garage and the town highway crew's fleet.
Construction of the new garage is being done by PDS Construction & Engineering of Bloomfield.
The cost of the new 12,400-square-foot garage is estimated to be $1.5 million, to be paid by the town's insurance.
