An event called Help Portrait ( will be offered Saturday, Dec. 8 from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Bethel School of Dance, located at 273 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel.

Founded by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart, Help-Portrait is a community of photographers coming together across the world to use photography skills to give back to the local community.

This month, photographers are finding people in need and creating photos. When prints are ready, the photographs are delivered.

These portraits are not for portfolios, websites or for sale. Money is not required. The concept is to provide family portraits for those who would not otherwise be able to afford it.

Hair and makeup artists will also be on hand to assist families and individuals to look their best.

For those arriving by mass transit, there is a bus stop in front of the Caraluzzi's Nutmeg Discount Liquors, located across the street from the Bethel School of Dance.

Due to space limitations, it would be helpful for those wishing to participate to schedule in advance.

Walk-ins will be accommodated but advance schedulring would be preferred.

Volunteers are also welcome.
