RIDGEFIELD—A stretch of Route 7 will close for the last time this weekend as the state Department of Transportation finishes work replacing a bridge just north of Route 102.

The road will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 until 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16 and traffic will be rerouted to Routes 35 and 102. This is the sixth and final weekend closure to replace the nearly 100-year-old bridge that runs over the Norwalk River.

As with the last five closures, businesses along the stretch of Route 7 will remain open and all non-local drivers are encouraged to use the provided alternate route instead of cutting through local roads.
