Fairfield family accused in bar fight
FAIRFIELD — Several family members will appear in court next week after police said they were involved in a bar fight that left an employee beaten.
The fight started after staff at Geronimo's Tequila Bar tried to stop serving alcohol to an “intoxicated and agitated” family, police said on Facebook.
The manager at the bar tried multiple times to talk to the family, but one of the members knocked him to the floor and punched him several times, according to police.
The manager suffered a cut and swelling on the face, as well as bruising, police said. His glasses also broke, according to police. Several staff members help bring the family outside the restaurant.
Witnesses described the family members as “belligerent, and confrontational,” police said.
Fairfield residents Kathleen Allen, 53, Clifford Richard Allen, 59, Catherine Mary Allen, 23, Hannah Allen, 21, and Harry Warnick, 25, were charged with disorderly conduct and released on a written promise to appear, according to police.
The fight occurred around 12:15 a.m. Aug. 11 and the group is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Aug. 26.
