The 62nd Bridgewater Country Fair will kick off Friday, Aug. 16, on the grounds behind the firehouse on Route 133 in Bridgewater.

The event, which will draw thousands of patrons from the area, is sponsored by the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, which marks its 75th anniversary this year.

The fair will be open Aug. 16 from 4 to 11 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 17, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 18, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Major fair highlights will include an opening ceremony Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m., followed by a parade at 6:45; a fireman's muster Aug. 17 at 11 a.m.; an antique tractor pull Aug. 17 at 2:30 p.m.; a pedal tractor pull for children 10 and under Aug. 17-18 at 11 a.m.; a garden tractor pull Aug. 18 at 11:30 a.m.; a variety of musical performances and freestyle Motocross demonstrations throughout the three-day event; and a firemen's raffle.

Bingo, which was last offered at the fair in 1989, will return this year.

Admission to the fair is $8 for adults and free for children under 12. A three-day pass will be available for $16.

Seniors 60 and older will be admitted for $5 Aug. 17-18. Ride bracelets for Aug. 16 only will be available that day from 6 to 10 p.m. for $25.
