A collection of items is underway for the 10th annual Tree of Warmth on display at Town Hall.

Mayor Pat Murphy's office said children's hats, gloves, mittens and scarves are sought, and will be hung on the tree by the mayor's office staff.

Goods will later be distributed to local families in need through the town's Social Services Department.

Donations may be dropped off Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the mayor's office.

In addition, monetary donations are sought for the Community Fuel Bank of New Milford, which assists low- and fixed-income families and seniors in the community.

The assistance provides for emergency fuel delivery or continued electric service to safely keep their homes warm during the cold winter months.

Checks may be made payable to the Community Fuel Bank of New Milford and dropped off at the mayor's office.
