Community spirit and a sense of kinship were in abundance July 21 at Sullivan Farm in New Milford.

The event was the Farmer's Table, a farm-to-table dinner attended by 120 at the venerable farm along Park Lane (Route 202).

A three-course, sit-down dinner was the highlight, a meal featuring local produce grown by Sullivan Farm's youth and other area farms.

Patrons also had the chance to meet the farm's manager-educator, Joe Listro, and enjoy tours of the rustic acreage of a farm that is now under the auspices of the Friends of Sullivan Farm.

The Farmer's Table was founded last summer by New Preston-based Smithy owners Howard Rosenfeld and his wife Sheryl Leach, advocates of locally grown produce and products.

"The idea is having area fans of locally grown and the farmers who grow it sit down together at a wonderful dinner that really reinforces our sense of community," Ms. Leach said.

Among those organizing the event were Friends of Sullivan Farm board members Lisa Agee, Julie Bailey and Katy Francis and volunteers Saun Ellis and Charmaine Wood, all of New Milford, as well as Cynthia Oneglia of Washington, Carolina Reid of Roxbury, Mr. Rosenfield and Ms. Leach, and Ronnie Maddalena of Warren.
