Committee to tackle turf field plans
A temporary artificial turf field construction committee was authorized recently by the New Milford Town Council.
The committee will comprise 10 New Milford residents appointed by Mayor Pat Murphy, with Town Council approval.
During its six-month duration, the committee will warn and hold public hearings to receive information, suggestions and input from the public.
It will assist and make recommendations to the town's purchasing authority to project cost estimates and to solicit proposals.
The committee will oversee and provide recommendations on the design and construction of two artificial turf athletic fields at New Milford High School.
The committee will issue a final report to the mayor, Town Council and those attending a town meeting.
The committee's budget is $1,500.
