Chili cookoff on tap in Washington

The Washington Republican Town Committee will hold its second annual chili cook-off Sept. 25 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Festivities will take place at Riverwalk pavilion on School Street.
There is no entry free and no limit to the number of entries per person.
For $5, a patron will have his or her hand stamped and have an opportunity to taste all entries.
The chili will be judged by attendees in five categories: meat chili, chicken chili, meatless chili, hottest chili and people's choice for overall favorite chili.
A ribbon will be presented to the winner of each category.
In addition to chili, hots dogs, burgers, soda, water and ice cream will be available to purchase, and raffles and door prizes will be available.
