Case of former Gunnery dean moved to October
The former dean of students at Gunnery School, Robert Reinhardt, did not enter a plea Tuesday to charges of second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault heard at Litchfield Superior Court.
Mr. Reinhardt's case has been moved to Oct. 16. The warrant on his arrest remains under a sealing order.
Mr. Reinhardt was dismissed by the Washington prep school in June after allegations surfaced of sexual abuse of students. He was charged Aug. 5 in Litchfield county and is free on $750,000 bond.
Two civil suits have since been filed against him charging sexual abuse of two former Gunnery students.
William Down, Mr. Reinhardt's attorney, said his client is denying the criminal charges and will deny the civil charges as well.
