Business break-ins reported in Washington
Police in Washington are looking for information following break-ins at six businesses in town this week.
Money was taken from safes and cash registers in the Marbledale and Washington Depot parts of town between 3 and 5:30 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday. The businesses include County Wine and Spirit, 202 Tavern, Marty Café, Washington Cleaners, Hens Nest and Fine James.
The amount of money taken was not shared because it’s part of the investigation, police said.
The suspect appears to be a white man of thin build, who is between 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall. He is seen wearing a hoodie, light-color gloves and a striped backpack on surveillance footage. His face is covered, but his eyes and eyebrows are visible, police said.
Police believe the suspect is traveling by foot and familiar with the area.
