NEW MILFORD — Local and regional employers will be on hand at a community job fair from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Pettibone Community Center’s cafeteria.

The event is hosted by state Rep. Bill Buckbee, R-New Milford, as a way to let residents meet with businesses and discover resources that may help them find a new job.

“In addition to visiting with the participating businesses at the fair, you will also have the chance to learn about other employment resources available to you through local educational institutions and the Department of Labor,” Buckbee said. “At the Capitol, we are always discussing ways in which we can strengthen the economy and improve the workforce. Hosting this job fair is a direct way to accomplish both of those tasks.”

Representatives from New Milford’s town government, youth agency and police department will all be there. Danbury and New Milford hospitals, Candlewood Valley Health and Rehab, Kimberly-Clark, GeronNursing and Respite Care, United States Navy, United States Army, Western Connecticut State University and the Naugatuck Valley Community College will also be present.

Employers who want to participate should contact Catherine Thomas at Catherine.Thomas@cga.ct.gov or at 860-240-8720. Visit RepBuckbee.com for more information about the job fair.
