BRIDGEPORT — There were no injuries when a truck became partially submerged in the waters off a city boat ramp Thursday afternoon, according to officials.

First responders were dispatched to the area around 4 p.m.

A construction company was trying to unload a tri-axle trailer from a 70-foot landing craft at the Newfield Avenue boat ramp when the truck’s back three axles became submerged in the water, according to Scott Appleby, the city’s director of emergency communications and emergency management.

Several tow trucks to help pull the truck from the water.

The rear half of the truck was pulled from the water without incident and without any part of the front part of the truck being at all submerged.

There were no injuries reported, Appleby said.
