BRIDGEPORT — Multiple people, including children, were injured in a car accident at the intersection of Chopsey Hill Road and Island Brook Extension on Sunday evening, according to police.

In the accident report, police said the crash, which occurred at approximately 6 p.m., was caused when a driver turned left out of the westbound lane of Chopsey Hill Road toward Island Brook Extension when they did not have the right of way. They said that resulted in a car heading east to hit the turning vehicle.

According to police, three people in the westbound car, including a child in the back seat, were injured in the crash. Two people in the eastbound vehicle were also injured, one of them being children.

Police said emergency medical services treated the injured at the scene and then transported them to Bridgeport and St. Vincent’s hospitals for treatment.
