Arthur J. Toussaint, 74, lived in New Milford

Arthur J. Toussaint, 74, of New Milford, died with his family by his side Aug. 30, 2009, at Hartford Hospital. He was for 53 years the husband of Floella (Kittredge) Toussaint.

Mr. Toussaint was born July 10,1935, in St. Johnsbury, Vt., son of the late Philomen Toussaint and Beatrice (LaMontage) Toussaint.

He was raised in St. Johnsbury and graduated from Danville High School.

Mr. Toussaint served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Randolph Technical School and the RCA Institute for television and radio.

He worked for the State of Connecticut Highway Department, Pike Paving in New Hampshire, MetLife and owned and operated Art's TV until his retirement.

Mr. Toussaint enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was a member of the Red Sox nation.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Toussaint is survived by a son, Michael and his wife, Patty, of New Milford; a daughter, Christine Keffer and her husband, Thomas, of Massachusetts; and two sons, David, of New York and Tracy, of New Milford.; five grandchildren, TJ Keffer and his wife, Lyndsay, Lindsay and Chelsea Keffer, and Nicole and Ryan Toussaint; and two great- grandchildren, Austin and Kendall Keffer. He was predeceased by an infant son, Timothy.

The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
