Arthur G. Honey, 87, was sexton at local church

Arthur G. Honey, 87, of New Milford, died July 15, 2009, at Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in New Milford. He was the husband of Vivian (Reese) Honey.
Mr. Honey was born Oct. 2, 1921, the son of the late Gordon T. and Alma (Murray) Honey.
Mr. Honey was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, having served during World War II and the Korean War, retiring after 20 years of service.
Before moving to New Milford in the late 1960's, he was employed by the Employment Services Department in Monterey, Calif.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church in New Milford, where he was sexton for many years.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Mr. Honey is survived by a son, Richard D. Honey, of Monterey; and a daughter, Brande L. Honey, of Jensen Beach, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced at the First Congregational Church on Main Street in New Milford.
The Colonial Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.
