A Taste of New Milford on tap in September
Published 11:21 pm, Monday, August 31, 2009
The third annual Taste of New Milford will be held Sept. 9 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the Village Green in New Milford.
The event will be co-sponsored by the Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce, Nicholas/Tobin & Associates, Northeast Tent Productions and Best Sanitation.
More than 20 restaurants, caterers and specialty bakers will participate in the event.
Money-saving coupons will be available and various items will be sold.
Many downtown businesses will be open to offer special activities.
A map of special events off the Green will be available at the entrance table.
The event started as a Business Scene -- a Chamber gathering for business folks -- three years ago, with local restaurants serving samples of their foods.
It was a hit.
As a result, the event outgrew its status as a Business Scene last year -- more than 1,000 people attended -- and, this year, will be held on its own.
For $10 per person or $20 per family, patrons may sample the foods available from participating restaurants, caterers and specialty bakers.
Proceeds will benefit the Community Culinary School of Northwestern Connecticut based in New Milford.
