Rose Bosco, 96, was a UConn basketball fan
Rose Mary Bosco, 96, of New Milford, formerly of Danbury and Brookfield, died Dec. 5, 2009, at Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Milford. She was the wife of the late Louis B. Bosco.
Mrs. Bosco was born Dec. 6, 1912, in Danbury, the daughter of the late Leonard and Lucy (Vitalizio) DePalma.
A lifelong Danbury resident, she had graduated from local schools and was employed as an inspector for the Barden Corp., retiring after 20 years of service.
Mrs. Bosco was a parishioner of St. Peter Church in Danbury and was a member of the Son's of Italy Colonna Lodge, where she had been a past president.
Mrs. Bosco had recently received recognition from the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program for 30 years of volunteer service.
Mrs. Bosco was an avid reader and a fan of UConn's girls' basketball team and the New York Yankees.
Mrs. Bosco is survived by two daughters, Joan M. Cahill, of Brookfield, and Lorraine M. Sorensen, and her husband, Harold, of Huntington; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
