Nancy Vreeland, 79, lived in Warren
Nancy (Twining) Vreeland, 79, of Warren, died Dec. 8, 2009, at home. She was the wife of Dr. Everett Vreeland, DVM.
Mrs. Vreeland was born March 21, 1930, in New York City, daughter of the late John and Susan (Coppell) Twining.
She moved from New York City to Ridgefield in the late 1940s and later to Roxbury. She was a resident of Warren since the 1970s.
Mrs. Vreeland was a graduate of St. Anne's School for Girls in Virginia, and professionally was a veterinarian assistant.
She was a member of the Wetlands Commission in Warren and a published poet, accomplished equestrian and a photographer.
In addition to her husband of 22 years, she is survived by two sons, Gary Santini of New Milford and Keith Cullerton of Canaan; three daughters, Rebecca Hearn of New Fairfield, Cathy Santini of Amenia, N.Y., and Kim Cullerton of St. Croix, U.S. V.I.; two stepchildren, Richard Vreeland and Nancy Rutledge, both of Lakeville; a sister, Susan Costanzi of Brookfield; and nine grandchildren, Tony, Jennifer, Colin, Geoffrey, Courtney, Elizabeth, Kyra, Mari and Eve.
A memorial service will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 a.m. at the Congregational Church in Warren.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford is in charge of arrangements.
