The New Milford Historical Society is sponsoring the annual M. Joseph Lillis Historical Fall Lecture Series.

Future lectures will be held Oct. 18 and 25 and Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. at the historical society on Aspetuck Avenue.

There is a suggested donation of $5.

Kathleen Zuris will lead a Power Point presentation on the New Milford African Americans who served in the Civil War from New Milford and the surrounding area Oct. 18.

Jolene Mullen, the state chair of volunteer genealogy for Connecticut DAR, will present "Connecticut's Town Meetings During the Revolution" based on her research of her upcoming book on towns of Connecticut Oct. 25.

Lastly, John Coleman, a history teacher in Ridgefield and a graduate of New Milford High School, will discuss his activities as a Civil War re-enactor.
