Kent Library announces programs
Shelly Frome, noted professor emeritus of dramatic arts at University of Connecticut, will sell and sign copies of his newest book, "The Art and Craft of Screenwriting: Fundamentals, Methods and Advice from Insiders," Aug. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Mr. Frome will return to town Aug. 8 to present a special workshop, "Ventures and Misadventures in Screenwriting," Aug. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Kent town hall.
The book costs $40. The workshop will cost $35. A discount will be offered to people who sign up for the workshop at the book signing.

The library will also host diabetes screenings with representatives from New Milford Hospital July 31, Aug. 8 and Aug. 28 from noon to 2 p.m., Aug. 1 and Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Aug. 7 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The screenings will be followed up with classes, one about pre-diabetes and the other about diabetes, at a later date.
