The Litchfield Jazz Festival will be held July 31 through Aug. 2 at Kent School on Route 341 in Kent.

The festival will kick off July 31 with the Friends of the Festival Gala at the Morrison Gallery in Kent at 7:45 p.m., followed by opening night performances with the Lewis Nash Quintet and Jane Monheit at the school.

The Dafnis Prieto si o Si Quartet, Trio Da Paz, Wycliffe Gordon and the Jay Leonhart Quartet, Benny Green and Bucky Pizzarelli, the Bill Henderson Quartet and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band will perform Aug. 1.

The Ted Nash Quartet, The Mancini Project, the Lionel Loueke Trio, the Dena DeRose Quartet, the Houston Person Quartet and the Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band will perform Aug. 2.

Gates will open at 11 a.m. and music will run from noon to 10 p.m.

Bus transportation to and from the nearest Metro-North railroad station, just 10 miles away, will be available from Kent School on Route 341.

Advance purchase general admission tickets are $35 for lawn and $55 for tent. Children under 12 will be admitted for free for the lawn.
