The Greater New Milford Chamber of Commerce has announced the schedule of events for its Village Fair Days, to be held on the Village Green in New Milford July 24-25.

FRIDAY, JULY 24

ä10 a.m.: Opening ceremonies on the stage. To include singing of National Anthem by Curtis Thompson and “God Bless America” by Linda Parker, ribbon cutting with Mayor Pat Murphy and crowning of senior center king and queen.

ä10 a.m.-10 p.m.: Fine arts, crafts, antiques, business, non-profit and food booths.

ä11 a.m.-4 p.m.: Amber Alert child identification program, sponsored by New Milford Police Department and Danbury and New Milford Rotary clubs, in lower level of town hall (use Church Street entrance).

ä11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: RecOn, sponsored by New Milford Parks and Recreation Department, on the stage.

äNoon-10 p.m.: Bingo, sponsored by Knights of Columbus, on the south end of the Green.

ä1:30-2:30 p.m.: Belly dance FIT/Get Fit program with Kathy Henkel on the stage.

ä2:30 p.m.: Tour of town hall with Probate Judge Martin Landgrebe at front steps of town hall on Main Street.

ä3-4 p.m.: Demonstration by New Milford Sports Club on the stage.

ä4:30-5:30 p.m.: Music by Last Place Victory on the stage.

ä6 p.m.: Children’s Fun Run, sponsored by Double Dragon Dojo Martial Arts Academy, with pre-registration at the Village Fair Days staff booth from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Three races will be held: ages 4 and under; ages 5-8; and ages 9-12.

ä7-10 p.m.: New Milford Idol competition on the stage.

ä10 p.m.: Fair closes.

SATURDAY, JULY 25

ä9 a.m.: 42nd annual 8-Mile Road Race and 7th Annual Fair Days 5K, sponsored by New Milford Parks and Recreation Department.

ä10 a.m.: Fair opens

ä10 a.m.-10 p.m.: Fine arts, crafts, antiques, business, non-profit and food booths.

ä2 p.m.: Historical walking tour, sponsored by New Milford Historical Society. Starts at bandstand.

ä2-2:30 p.m.: Northern Star Karate on the stage.

ä2:45-3:30 p.m.: Studio D on the stage.

ä4-5: p.m.: St. Peter’s Masonic Lodge chicken wing eating contest on the stage.

ä5:15-6 p.m.: Elite Gymnastics on the stage.

ä7-10 p.m.: Steppin’ Out with Curtis T. on the stage.

ä8 p.m.: Village Fair Days and Frederick J. Wynne Scholarship Fund Awards on the stage.

ä10 p.m.: Fair closes.
