Eileen Murtha, 79, had a son in Gaylordsville

Eileen P. Murtha, 79, formerly of Pawling and Brewster, N.Y., died Nov. 10, 2009, at The Kent.

Mrs. Murtha was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Pawling, daughter of the late Charles and Louise (Todd) Clark.

In July 1951, in Pawling, she married Patrick Murtha, who died on Oct. 21, 1971.

Mrs. Murtha was a housekeeper at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, N.Y., for many years ,retiring in 1990.

She was a former member of the Brewster Fire Department Auxiliary.

Mrs. Murtha is survived by two sons, Thomas Murtha of Gaylordsville and Kevin Murtha of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Sharon Pecarina of Wingdale, N.Y., and Patricia Lawhorn of Lorton, Va.; a sister, Charlotte Porter of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren, Eric Pecarina, Leanne Pecarina, Timothy Lawhorn, Kevin Lawhorn and Steven Murtha; and a great-grandson, Hudson Pecarina.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Clark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today (Friday) at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church, 39 E. Main St. in Pawling, N.Y. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Brewster.

The Hufcut Funeral Home of Dover Plains, N.Y., was in charge of arrangements.
