Two longtime staffers retire from Glenholme

ASAP! in Washington, which serves northwestern Connecticut, offer A Day on The Farm program in October. Groups of 10 students masked up for a hiking tour of Waldingfield Farm, sampled organic produce, and painted Dia De Los Muertos-inspired pumpkins with Alyssa Robb and Patrick Horan.

Spectrum/Mask-wearing and social distancing became part of life at Marvelwod School in Kent, including during the school's weekly community service. This group of students worked throughout the fall term tending the Marvelwood Blueberry Orchard.

Gunn Memorial Library in Washington will present a free virtual program, "The Spirit of Christmas Past: Four Centuries of Christmas in New England," Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. with Kenneth Turino, who will trace the development of the celebration of Christmas from the time it was outlawed in 17th Century New England through the beginning of the 21st Century. More than a dozen students at Education Without Walls in New Milford recently received more than $40,000 in scholarships for the 2020-21 academic year. Students and staff from the Glenholme School in Washington are working together to brighten the Thanksgiving holiday for those in the community by collecting non-perishables.

The After School Arts Program, which serves Northwestern Connecticut, will hold its 10th annual Celebration of Young Photographers virtually Dec. 6 from 4 to 4:30 p.m. Photographs by 60 students, including Madelyn Lazzara of Berlin High School in Berlin, whose work is shown above, will be featured.

Kent Memorial Library will present an exhibit, "Transitions," featuring works by South Kent artist Allison May Gennings, Nov. 2 through Dec. 30. An outdoor opening reception will be held Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Chess court. A rain date of Nov. 14 is set. Registration is required by calling 860-927-3761. Donations sought for Masons' tag sale

St. Peter's Masonic Lodge in New Milford is seeking items for its Nov. 21-22 tag sale.

The sale will be held each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the lodge located on Aspetuck Avenue.

Donations may be dropped off at the lodge Nov. 18-20 at 6 p.m.
