Dolly Bohdan, 91, of New Milford, died Oct. 5, 2009, at the Bethel Rehabilitation Center due to complications from falling and breaking her hip.

Mrs. Bohdan was born March 3, 1918, in New York City, the first generation in her family born in America; her parents had emmigrated from Italy. She lived most of her life on Long Island; in 2004, she moved to New Milford.

She will always be remembered as a gentle and caring person with a keen wit.

Mrs. Bohdan is survived by her husband, Walter, of 60 years; a brother, Francis Raspanti, of Wantagh, N.Y.; a daughter, Judy and her husband, Harold Aukland, of Deer Park, N.Y.; a son, Martin Bohdan and his wife, Charlene, of New Milford; six grandchildren, Susan, Sharon, Krisen, Ryan, Sean and Collin; and six great-grandchildren.

The Claude R. Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home in New York was in charge of arrangements.
