Cecile Findley, 80, had family in New Milford
Mrs. Findley was born Aug. 20,1929, in Berlin, N.H., daughter of the late Evangelist Girouard and Mary (Bergeron) Girouard.
She was a devoted member of St. Peter's Church.
Mrs. Findley enjoyed a 55-year nursing career that included many years at Danbury Hospital and Danbury area nursing homes, retiring from Pope John Paul Nursing home in 2005.
She loved and found enjoyment spending time with her husband and their six children, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Findley is survived by two sons, Steven Findley, and his wife, Diane, of Clinton, and Bernard S. Findley, and his wife, Sarah, of Newtown; four daughters, Donna Testani, and her husband, Mike, of Brookfield, Jeannette Findley, of Danbury, Karen Peck, and her husband, Roger, of New Milford, and Michelle DeFaria, and her husband, Ailton, of Danbury; two brothers, Adrien Girouard, of Tupper Lake, N.Y., and Lucien Girouard, of Lewiston, Maine; three sisters, Jeanne Hyde, of Clearwater, Fla., Germaine Cote, of Rotunda West, Fla., and Pauline Sylvia, of Pawtucket, R.I.; 14 grandchildren, Dan Testani, of Palm Harbor, Fla., Jennifer Testani, of Brookfield, Stephanie Worthley, of Norton, Mass., Kimberly Findley, of Quincy, Mass., Bethany Fantasia, of Watertown, Mass., Jessica Fiallo, of Pine Plains, N.Y., Nickolle and Vanessa Andrade, of Danbury, Alissa, Olivia and Savannah DeFaria, of Danbury, and Camryn, Madison and Sawyer Findley, of Newtown; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her bestfriend, and sister-in-law, Geraldine Findley, of Danbury.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia; three brothers, Armand, Romeo and Lionel; and three sisters, Lucienne, Rita and Therese.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
