Norwalk restaurant introduces Thanksgiving milkshake...with turkey and Brussels sprouts

You've seen wacky milkshakes topped with whole slices of cake, and Bloody Marys garnished with cheeseburger sliders. South Norwalk's RHK Seafood Boil + Bar is taking cues from both drinks with its over-the-top Thanksgiving milkshake special.

The "Plenty To Be Thankful For" drink ($16) is a maple-flavored milkshake, with an unexpected topping: a roasted turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce on multigrain bread. On the side, there's a portion of crispy Brussels sprouts. Swap the maple flavor for vanilla or chocolate, and/or spike it with barrel-aged Redemption rye for an extra $11.

RHK will serve the "meal in a milkshake" from Nov. 20 to Dec. 1, and a portion of sales will be donated to Food Rescue US to help end food insecurity and waste in Connecticut.

RHK, which opened in June, has already made its mark with unusual bar offerings. In September, the restaurant rolled out a $99 "Diamond and Gold" Negroni, with 24 karat gold-flecked ice cubes.

For Halloween, the bar conjured up an "Ursula" Bloody Mary, named for the villain in "The Little Mermaid," a combination of vodka, kimchi, horseradish, squid ink and tomato juice capped with grilled octopus.
