The Kent Memorial Library has announced its upcoming events.

•Photographs by Mary J. Hayes will be on display through Sept. 30.

•Sculptor Raul Farco and poet David Shapiro will present a lecture and slide show Sept. 25 at 2 p.m.

Mr. Franco's work, "Head and Branches," is currently on display at the library.

•A book discussion series focusing on narratives that explore the achievements of the U.S. during and after World War II is underway.

The group will meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Main Street library.

Topics will include "The Art Student's War" by Brad Leithauser Sept. 16, "A Fierce Radiance" by Lauren Belfer Oct. 14, "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet" by Jamie Ford Nov. 11 and "American Rust" by Philipp Meyer on Dec. 9.
