The New Milford Commission on the Arts will present a concert, "An Evening of Brazillina Music and Latin Jazz," with guitarist Peter Griggs March 6 at 7:30 p.m.

The free concert will be held at the railroad station on Railroad Street in New Milford.

Mr. Griggs will explore the Brazilian sounds of bossa nova and samba, Cuban music alla the Buena Vista Social Club, jazz standards with a Latin touch and Nuevo flamenco, as well as perform his own compositions and a variety of other music from Thelonious Monk to the Beatles.

A native of New York City, Mr. Griggs has performed throughout the United States and Europe, with nearly 300 concerts in recent years in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Low Countries, Scandinavia, the Baltic countries, France, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic and Croatia.

He has composed for internationally known theatre and dance groups, and his soundtracks for documentary film and radio drama have been broadcast on WNET-TV in New York, National Public Radio in the U.S. and at the World-Wide Video Festival in the Netherlands.
