The Gaylordsville Volunteer Fire Department will present its first annual chili and chowder cook-off May 1 from noon to 3 p.m.

Patrons may sample all chili and chowder entries and submit their vote for the winners.

Admission, which includes a bottle of water, is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

The entry fee is $25, with pre-registration required by April 27.
