The Kent Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Kent Sidewalk Festival Aug. 6-9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Kent.

The event will take place on Main Street and vicinity.

Festivities will include music at three locations on the afternoons and evenings of Aug. 7-9, "Cheeseburgers in Paradise" Aug. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Backcountry Outfitters, exhibits by Kent Historical Society and Connecticut Antique Machinery Association, special sales by retail merchants, kids' games and entertainment, the library book sale, a pig roast, fire truck rides, antique machinery and car displays, art exhibits, a wellness fair, gardening workshops, handicraft demonstrations, a treasure hunt and more.

Other offerings will include a rummage sale at St. Andrew's Church, the Upscale Tag Sale to benefit Kent Center School Scholarship Fund at the Kent Community House and the library book sale.

The library will offer a special 10 percent discount on any purchase of $10 or more Aug. 6-9. The sale will be open Aug. 6 from noon to 5 p.m., Aug. 7-8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New this year will be a sidewalk mural challenge for families based on the theme "Get Creative@Your Library" Aug. 8 at 10:30 a.m., with chalk provided by the library and prizes to be awarded.

The Kent Art Association, Richard Lindsey Bookseller, the library and Union Savings Bank will serve as information points and have schedules and walking maps.
