SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) _ S&W Seed Co. (SANW) on Tuesday reported a loss of $2.8 million in its fiscal second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Sacramento, California-based company said it had a loss of 9 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 7 cents per share.

The alfalfa seed company posted revenue of $18.6 million in the period.

The company's shares closed at $2.60. A year ago, they were trading at $3.58.
