ALHAMBRA, Calif. (AP) _ Emcore Corp. (EMKR) on Wednesday reported a loss of $15 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Alhambra, California-based company said it had a loss of 52 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to 27 cents per share.

The maker of components for communications gear and solar panels posted revenue of $24.3 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $36 million, or $1.29 per share. Revenue was reported as $87.3 million.

For the current quarter ending in January, Emcore said it expects revenue in the range of $25 million to $27 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $3.17. A year ago, they were trading at $4.86.
